Dibond® - a versatile material
Dibond® is a strong aluminium sandwich panel that lends itself to many applications. For example, for traditional façade advertising, milling letters or interior applications such as photo on panel, wall circles or hexagons.
First things first: what are the key specifications?
We often call Dibond® an aluminium sandwich panel. This is because both outer layers are made of aluminium with a black plastic core in between. You will find five varieties of Dibond® in our range. Whichever variant you choose, these are important points to know:
- + Strong and relatively light material suitable for many applications
- + Hard surface layer protects against surface damage. Please note that the degree of protection differs per variant
- + Weatherproof, so suitable for outdoor use
- + Fire certificates issued, so suitable for public areas
- - Difficult to recycle due to combination of materials
To remember
Dibond budget: this is our economical budget quality. Popular for flat advertising applications, such as billboards. PS: the budget variant weighs 0.82 kg/m2 heavier than the other variants.
Dibond® premium: in terms of properties and price, the perfect middle ground between budget and digital. This variant of German quality offers a constant basic colour so that you do not see any colour differences when dividing a print. The premium variant is often chosen for facade signage and milling letters.
Dibond® digital: In contrast to budget and premium, this variant can be printed on both sides and has an additional coating. In even 70% of orders, a coating is chosen. The coating offers extra protection against scratches, changing weather conditions and for when you regularly use cleaning products. Because of these advantages, Dibond® digital is particularly popular as a wall sign.
Dibond® butler finish: the top layer of the above three options is smooth and white. The butler finish changes all that! With this variant you can offer your customer a brushed aluminium look. Stylish and luxurious! You can choose from a horizontal or vertical brushing direction for the right result for your project. Butler finish is often chosen for interior applications, for example as photo on panel.
Do you need a mega-large board? Then choose Dibond XL
The standard size of a sheet is 1.5 x 3.5 metres. With Dibond® XL you can print as much as 4 x 1.96 m in one piece. For the XL variant, you can only choose the budget variant in 3 mm. We will then print your print directly on the sheet.
Plates larger than 180 cm are delivered by our own ONB delivery service. Our deliverers are specialized in transporting large print products. Plus, at ONB you don't have to pay extra for the large format. Use it to your advantage!
The difference between printing directly on the plate or on foil?
You choose. A print on foil is a more expensive option. A major advantage is that the laminate on the foil protects the print. We first print the foil which is then adhered to the Dibond sheet in a dust-free environment.
