You are a designer and would like to keep your patterns private and produce them for your clients, while retaining the rights to your pattern? You can do so at Marketing Shelfie.
We want to briefly outline the possibilities because we have received quite a few creative questions. For example, one question was: how can I print my own design that is "private" at MOTIFLOW via Marketing Shelfie. Basically, our website works mostly with the "public MOTIFLOW' patterns, but we found a solution.
For the MOTIFLOW designer, there are 3 options if you want to keep your design private and start printing:
OPTION 1
You can place your own order through your MOTIFLOW account at MOTIFLOW and have your materials delivered to your home. This can be done for 'private' or 'public' patterns.
Here you can choose and "print" only the materials that work with the MOTIFLOW option. For a list of materials - click on this link.
OPTION 2
You can print your pattern at Marketing Shelfie and have it delivered to your home.
Important to know is that the printing process and file delivery is different from MOTIFLOW.
At MOTIFLOW you deliver one pattern, and 'the ordering process' determines the margin between your pattern, how often it is repeated, it is a more 'automated' way of working, where you somewhat lose control and precision.
With Marketing Shelfie you have a little more control over the exact print, because you provide a file rather than a pattern to be repeated. You control exactly how much margin is left, right, bottom or between the elements of your pattern because you provide a complete file that is "not repeated.
With this option you can print any product from Marketing Shelfie with your original pattern, you are not limited to the materials that allow a MOTIFLOW pattern print.
Upload your pattern?
When you are in the order module and have chosen one of the MOTIFLOW products, you can upload a file, this is the file we just mentioned.
A practical example: suppose you want to order a piece of Kendal fabric of 200×100 cm, then you deliver a pdf file of 202 x 102 cm for print. You then upload this file when you finalize your order.
Important to know: always deliver each file with 1 cm bleed around your pattern.
OPTION 3
A third less orthodox option: you post your private pattern publicly for a while, and just use Marketing Shelfie 's configurator to order your pattern.... After ordering (wait at least 3 days), you place your pattern back on private status. We do NOT recommend this!
For the other designers: a single option
You choose any Marketing Shelfie product, determine the dimensions of your order, and also provide a file that has exactly the dimensions of your pattern and print surface.
Here you choose the space between the elements of the pattern, but also where the pattern starts on your piece of Kendal fabric for example. The full explanation can be found under item 2 at the top in the section for MOTIFLOW designers.
